uuid VS oapi-codegen

I use Google's UUID package a lot. But every time I refer to it in a new package, the language server picks up https://github.com/gofrs/uuid instead of https://github.com/google/uuid and then complains that the gofrs package isn't in go.mod. I assume because it's the first alphabetically (though this seems like a huge supply chain security loophole).

What makes this different than https://github.com/gofrs/uuid ?

Something to note is that all of this is still open source. Theoretically, someone can decide to fork SQLBoiler and add all the missing things, or send in a PR. A good example is that the current most popular uuid package. gofrs/uuid was forked from an unmaintained previously popular package.

You could also look at github.com/gofrs/uuid which includes support for v6 and v7 from the latest draft UUID spec. Personally I think the API for this library is nicer since the google one makes it difficult to tell what kind of UUID you are generating.

Postgres has native UUID support so don't use VARCHAR(36). Look at https://github.com/gofrs/uuid library, among others, to create uuid.

what’s the difference between this and https://github.com/deepmap/oapi-codegen

During daytime, and especially work time, I used a great tool to generate code from OpenAPI specification: deepmap/oapi-codegen.

Then you can use oapi-codegen or openapi-generator to generate the Go (or other language) SDK for it.

Luckily, Forem/DEV is open source and provides great API documentation and specification. I used oapi-codegen to automatically generate a Go API client. Then, I simply had to walk the root articles directory and:

I'm using https://github.com/deepmap/oapi-codegen to auto gen some types for my api as I want the contract to be the source of truth. However, I'm running into an issue, the same as (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/77237210/how-to-generate-models-from-openapi-with-ref) where oapi-codegen isn't recognizing references to local files. Has anyone run into this and found a work around? or is there a better tool to use for this

For Go, I've found https://github.com/deepmap/oapi-codegen/, and it works well.

I’m using oapi-codegen in my project and I don’t think it ships with a validator.
