IDE: use whatever make you productive. I personally use vscode. VCS: git, as golang communities use github heavily as base for many libraries. AFAIK Linter: use staticcheck for linting as it looks like mostly used linting tool in go, supported by many also. In Vscode it will be recommended once you install go plugin. Libraries/Framework: actually the standard libraries already included many things you need, decent enough for your day-to-day development cycles(e.g. `net/http`). If I started working at a Go shop that used a framework, I would hope it would be Fiber. Not for any particular solid reasons, though. Rather just personal preference based on how the developer experience feels to me personally.

I use Fiber [0] in production for a $4M ARR company and never had any issues.

Took less than a month to start with and integrate and it is a joy to use.

Fiber is quite light weight and performant, its beginner friendly as well. The complexity of your app has to live somewhere. You are going to need a router at least, any framework that is lightweight and has sensible defaults is always worth considering over doing everything on your own. There are plenty of useful examples

This is not a disproval, but gorilla/mux has comparatively poor benchmark results among popular (many stars) third-party HTTP routers. , used by many users.

This attention to detail also can mean that for key abstractions in a tool or framework, what concretely goes on doesn't go unexplained. For example, when I was learning Go for web development, my first stumbling block was understanding how interfaces worked, particularly http.Handler, which is key to doing web development with Go's powerful net/http package and the fits-like-a-glove package built on top of it, the Gorilla Mux router. My way of finding out how that worked, and seeing the elegance of that interface, was pretty unorthodox - I figured out how Handlers worked by looking directly at Go's source code (which also is a demonstration of Go's readability, if you're interested in joining the Gophers!). We will be using Gorilla Mux to create the APIs locally. Gorilla Mux implements a request router and dispatcher to match the incoming requests.
