Best total beginner tutorials/courses for 3D PS1-like games?
Good tutorials will be useful regardless of art style, but if you want to be very accurate with ps1 visuals, use Godot 3.5 (4 is missing vertex lighting and fog), and you can check out menacingmecha’s awesome ps1 shaders: https://github.com/MenacingMecha/godot-psx-style-demo/tree/v1.x They’re super easy to use, just drag and drop.

How would you tackle making rough PSX style shadows like these ones?
If you want to fully recreate the PS1 look, I've put together a demo project complete with shaders: https://github.com/MenacingMecha/godot-psx-style-demo

Nawa
That word is only for Attractive Advertisement™ (or in vulgar terms, clickbait). I use a shader in Godot (which btw, I need to report the viewport doesn't know how to render properly multiple light sources).

PSX Shader Stretch Problem
Also I recommend using this version of your mentioned shader. This one allows you to turn off the affine mapping altogether if you want.

2021
I'll be eternally thankful to both marmitoTH and WittyCongomen in GitHub for the shaders. I already love working with Godot, so I can make this kind of setups relatively easy.
