It's a P2P chat app written in Go. It sits on top of OrbitDB which itself is on IPFS. For their use case, the devs wrote a port of OrbitDB in Go.

I'd like to point out that you probably cloned https://github.com/ipfs/kubo there, which is only one part of what accounts for the "IPFS codebase". If you want to find out the actual LoC, I'm afraid you will need to dig through https://github.com/ipfs/kubo/blob/master/go.mod and pick everything that's https://github.com/ipfs/*.

I post a lot about IPFS, I was using the 'ipfs mount' to virtually offer my entire collection from my NAS (on a private 'swarm' of course) to the remote stations.
