However, if I look at staking.polkadot.network I'm told that just the 417 is bonded with two validators. This leaves me totally confused.

From my experience, DOT staking has been made significantly easier recently as you can do it directly through the network's staking dashboard: https://staking.polkadot.network/

yes, there is! You can go to staking.polkadot.network and connect your ledger (only works in Chrome or Brave Browser). You can then choose your pool and delegate. Note: the pooled balance will not be visible in Ledger Live, only in the staking dashboard, you retain control over your keys though :)

I am staking DOT on https://staking.polkadot.network/ in pool for few months. Today i realized that my balance on dashboard is 0, but on my Nova wallet (which is watch only) i still see my balance. It looks like its connected when i click on connect button, but it actually is not. Any help?

Polkadot has one of the most active development activities, apart from building innovative dApps you can also earn rewards passively and view them in real-time on the staking dashboard.

JS wallet is for devs (I didn't actually know that before I moved all DOT from cEX there). staking.polkadot.network is super easy though.
