I'd like to give a shoutout to mintstick for USB image writer, it is the one bundled with Linux mint but I always end up installing it on other distros too because it is so simple and does what you want

Yes, you can compile the package from the GitHub source (https://github.com/linuxmint/mintstick). If using Arch Linux the package is also available in the AUR.

Restoring a USB thumbstick to factory settings?
Linux Mint has a simple graphical program called mintstick that can do this... it's a python script and I'd be surprised if it had dependencies that would cause it not to work in OpenSUSE. https://github.com/linuxmint/mintstick
