My loading screen isn't showing up when I launch Gmod. I'm on Mac x86-64, how do I fix this?
2) - Replace the menu with a no-html patch, since you've disabled the chromium menus: - download this repo: https://github.com/robotboy655/gmod-lua-menu - replace ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/GarrysMod/garrysmod/lua/menu with the /menu folder inside the repository (REPLACE the menu folder, do not MERGE) - replace ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/GarrysMod/garrysmod/materials/gui with the /gui folder inside the repository (REPLACE the gui folder, do not MERGE)

Just Cycling Through Loading Images
You could download Lua Menu, and see if that works.
- gmod not working on my new mac

Using Fedora 36, this is the native version, Any way to stop this random crash?
I am using the Lua menu by Robotboy655 and also I've applied the CEFCodecFix for the x86_64 beta.
-
Does anyone know how to fix it (It keeps loading forever in case you were wondering)
As the GitHub comment I linked explains, the menu uses HTML and disabling chromium turns off all web content, even offline webpages, so you will need to download the Lua menu and extract it to [Steam directory]/GarrysMod/garrysmod to regain that functionality.

garrys mod main menu not showing (mac m1, already using 64 bit beta version)
Try using this https://github.com/robotboy655/gmod-lua-menu
-
Does anyone know how to play gmod on Mac?
on m1 disable chromium and use this https://github.com/robotboy655/gmod-lua-menu or use Parallels (recommended). it's not compatible with m1 natively and you have to replace the UI with this crippled version to get it working.

Pop_Os and Heroic dont launch games
A performance optimiser, GameMode by Feral Interactive. It’s not required for anything to launch (unless maybe you’ve configured something to run via gamemoderun and GameMode isn’t actually installed on your system!)

Can't find gamemode.ini
EDIT: Nevermind, fixed it. Just create a file called gamemode.ini in $HOME/.config/, and copy inside this.

This launcher does help too: https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode
On top of that, you can use a patched kernel like: https://xanmod.org/
You can check support status for games here: https://www.protondb.com/
If you run games via Proton with DXVK, you can use the environment variable DXVK_HUD=1 to show a HUD with an FPS meter. Some others prefer mangohud.
Setting your CPU frequency scaling governor and GPU to performance mode also helps.
