Is there really no way to edit all layers at once? Do I seriously have to make colour corrections on every single individual layer?
G'MIC will do it, On the GIMP top menu go to Filters > G'MIC_Qt, do your color correction and then at the bottom on the input select "All" or "All visible" or whatnot (multiple option)

This is just GMIC filters which are an awesome free filter suite for Photoshop/Gimp/Krita.

Yet another GIMP newbie with a question: Am I barking up the right tree?
You do not need to abandon the ship, with 2 plugins (one is G'MIC, the other one is to export layers as image and it does way more as well), and a one line code in terminal, you will be able to do it with GIMP (although I think it's the perfect job for ImageMagick, but I don't master it).

- My Gimp Layer Effects engine has an experimental branch that calls my other text styling plugins in it. Download for Windows and Linux provided. Remember, they go in C:\Users\(USERNAME)\AppData\Local\gegl-0.4\plug-ins NOT the normal plugins folder.
- GEGL Effects July 22 2023 new version release - The plugin that makes thousands of text styles. Now appears in Gimp 2.99 menu under Filters>Text Styling and has a new sharp bevel effect.
- First time using gimp to make anything significant and I made this
- No dynamic drop shadow for text

GEGL-Electricity - GEGL does an Electric Effect on an image covered by transparency. Compile and put the binary in /gegl-0.4/plug-ins , The preview image features GEGL applying the effect to my custom text style filter "Glossy Balloon" that it does NOT ship with.
GEGL-Photo-to-Cartoon- - GEGL makes a real cartoon effect. Dabs on the default cartoon filter. Huge Credit to GimpChat user cli345 who discovered most of the GEGL Graph. I just made it into a GEGL filter with slight modifications such as internal blend mode switching and a few other things.
