Accidentally cleared 40 gb of photos from samsung gallery
Its not completely clear to me what you want to do, but perhaps this is useful https://github.com/dtylman/gitmoo-goog

Current best practices for migration from Google Photos to synology?
Try this https://github.com/dtylman/gitmoo-goog
- How the f**k do I get away from Google Photos and back to local storage? "Takeaway" is useless and omits or forgets huge chunks of photos.

Synology Photos is utter bullcrap
For me, Google Photos is actually my source. Most of my pictures are taken with my android phone. I then have a process run that runs https://github.com/dtylman/gitmoo-goog to retrieve the pictures from Google Photos every day.

Google Photos gave me an excuse to upgrade! 8TBx2 WD Reds in Raid 1.
use https://github.com/dtylman/gitmoo-goog instead of Takeout I would suggest

Sync Photos From Google Photos To Synology
i did that, but was still not found. I just resorted to https://github.com/dtylman/gitmoo-goog which I run on a windows laptop at boot time. Its not ideal but does what I need.
Chevereto Free
- Looking for self-hosted alternative to imgur, temporary image file hosting

Looking for a software allowing friends and family to easily upload their pictures to me
I had somewhat of the same issue, and ended up using chevereto free. It has a very customizable web interface and supports user accounts. It saves pictures with thumbnails so you have to do some deleting when you want to take them elsewhere, but otherwise it works really well! Here is the link to the repo. Found this thread asking somewhat of the same question here

Is this possible - self hosted, externally accessible, photo gallery
I've used this in the past: https://github.com/rodber/chevereto-free
-
My vote goes to Photonix for now
Use the official Docker package: https://github.com/rodber/chevereto-free/pkgs/container/chevereto-free
- Self Hosted Alternative to Imgur in the Homelab
-
Plex Alternative for Headless Linux Server
wrong tool, check with https://github.com/rodber/chevereto-free or similiar

The most important point everyone is ignoring when considering a photo management app, longevity.
When you mention Chevereto I think that you meant the Chevereto-Free software (as you list only Open/Free Software in the comparison). That one has +2K stars :) and the repo you linked is for our container bootstrap dev standar (V3, V4) for our paid software. Chevereto-Free got Docker support recently, the package is here: https://github.com/rodber/chevereto-free/pkgs/container/chevereto-free
- Is there any webmshare.com open source website ?
- Chevereto Free will be closed and need supporter to keep it alive
-
Selfhosted PicDrop alternative - photo gallery with selection feature for photography and retouching
Note: The repo will be still available at https://github.com/chevereto/Chevereto-Free
