Brightness screen keys doesnt work on laptop
so first install brillo from AUR or from the gitlab source , also you can look at the reference XF86KeySymfrom references , then in your config.h file add this line ```

ELI5 Intel Graphic drivers
In both of those cases, however, there already solutions like picom (to remove tearing) and brillo (to adjust brightness), so I don't really see the point in using vendor-specific DDX drivers nowadays, other than perhaps performance (?).

What is a program that you use that's uncommon but essential for you?
I've replaced systemd-backlight with a brillo wrapper script, because I miss the smooth backlight restore from Windows.

Brightness screen keys doesnt work on laptop
Try using something like https://github.com/Hendrikto/backlight_control. Bind backlight_control +10 to the brightness up key and backlight_control -10 to brightness down key

"Extra Dim" is a godsend
I use this backlight_control script, works like a charm. You can also take your brightness all the way down to zero, so still keep the display active (which is great for preventing idle status/timeout in certain apps), whilst reducing power consumption down to a negligible level.
