/u/Number-1Dad circling back, and I'll be damned. After a bit of finnagling, Ryzen Controller is woring rather interestingly. The TDP limiter stops the whole thing short of takeoff.

Ryzen controller got your back. Newest version might not work with your CPU, old one will. The trick here is to limit your iGPU clocks to the lowest possible for everyday usage and let your system decide in gaming. You can also set throttle temp for processor to avoid throttling.

I was looking into using envycontrol to disable the dGPU in linux, and maybe ryzen controller or cpu-power to limit cpu power usage.

Makes sens though. Overclocking APUs in laptops is much more trickier and riskier than desktop CPUs, especially that the optimal settings have already been tuned by the OEM in firmware based on known thermal and VRM power design limitations.

If you want a game booster, you should just probably use something like UXTU. I've been using it and it usually works really well with games*. Just use the presets.
