Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Designing a coherent set of keyboard shortcuts
Coherent and consistent keyboard shortcuts are incredibly important. We spent a ton of time throughout many projects fine-tuning the choices for GitAlias @ https://github.com/gitalias/gitalias
A challenge is being willing to cut shortcuts that people like, but that don't cohere well, or can't be consistent. A specific example: GitAlias uses "git p" always as "git pull" and never as "git push".

Ask HN: Can I see your scripts?
Not a script as such, but I did put this together, building on what someone else did:
https://github.com/ianmiell/bash-template
It's a 'cut and paste' starter for shell scripts that tries to be as robust as possible while not going crazy with the scaffolding. Useful for "I want to quickly cut a script and put it into our source but don't want it to look totally hacky" situations.
