On screen annotation?
I really liked Zoom's on screen annotation tools but having trouble finding an equally useful standalone tool for in class teaching. Gink has been good so far but lacking a few features. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good on screen annotation tool? Doesn't have to be free. Thanks a lot.
- Predefine an area on screen for record?

Display capture area whilst using Window Capture
You could use an application like gInk to draw a box around the area.

Draw on your screen without a toolbar or your stuff being erased when you stop drawing
You can try gInk or LiveDraw.

Cap + offset for motivity, or a squared function?
So there is another great overlay program that helps a lot with mouse accel. gInk. I swear every program with an overlay sets off at least one flag at virus total though. You can draw the current part of the curve you like on rawaccel (once you set the chart to stop moving), and then change the curve

Something more feature-rich than gInk, for drawing diagrams over my screen?
I've been using gInk for this, but it's pretty limiting. I can only use a preset selection of colors, and highlighting things (like with a highlighter) is very awkward and hard to do.

There is a fork of gInk, called ppInk, which has a lot more options. But I have not tried it out. If you are exploring similar tools, it might be worth a look.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing gInk and ppInk you can also consider the following projects:
live-draw - A tool allows you to draw on screen real-time.
