Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Higher order FRP with React - why is it not happening?
It seems however that higher order FRP is not really being used together with react.

The site exercism.io (non-profit) has a feature where you can mentor people on coding problems when they ask for it.

Is It Normal to be bad at Introduction to Programming?
I recommend exercism.io, their exercises start off really easy so it's a good way to ease into the language and get used to solving simple problems. And it removes the classic problem of "ok but I don't know what to code".

What's everyone working on this week (19/2022)?
I spent time doing exercism.io, Advent of Code, and other similar things. I also made some minor contributions to a couple of Rust projects.

Any tips for learning a new language?
I'm actually learning the basics of Go in a website called exercism.io. Sometimes I don't understand a few things and take a lot of time to solve simple exercises and that unmotivates me.

Learning Go by getting unit tests to work

Learning material for learning Spring Boot with Kotlin
I'm learning Kotlin from educative.io and doing exercism.io exercises but most online courses on Spring boot are with Java. Can you please recommend some nice learning material (preferably video courses) combining the two?

[IWantOut] 27M Russia -> Somewhere
I am a developer in Python and if you are just breaking into the industry, Javascript is actually going to net you your first job faster in most countries. You can learn full stack javascript from freecodecamp.com . If you made it through a Python book already, I'm sure you can do it. (If you are really wanting to do Python and web, I would recommend going through the free book Testing Goat, which teaches the TDD method to build a Python/Django app: https://www.obeythetestinggoat.com/book/praise.harry.html Also, there is a great community on the Python slack anyone can join for free: https://pyslackers.com/web ) You will want to develop your portfolio on the way so you have projects you can show employers, prove that you understand how to use source control (e.g. git), etc. That said, just do whatever you can to get out now. The coding skills are always something you can work on in your spare time until you have enough work to show to apply somewhere. Another great site for coding skills that provides a free mentorship is exercism.io . It will help you to see not only how to solve a problem, but also how others would solve the same problem in a different way. I agree with others who are saying focus first on just getting out and then doing something with your bilingual skills in English and Russian. Those are skills not everyone has!
