How can I create complex form invalidation rules?
Did you look for JS libraries rather than React? I found this as the top result on Google when not searching for React: https://formvalidation.io/

Is front-end and back-end validation a huge pain in the butt or am I just doing it wrong?
I use formvalidation.io for frontend. It's just easier to work with than other solutions I've used. But, before you do frontend form validation please ensure that your backend is validating the inputs first.

I inspected the form out of curiosity, and it uses Parsley.js for validation, and the password box has a regex value of `^X4G6H66TZ114Z33H19K6$` - typing in `X4G6H66TZ114Z33H19K6` as the password gives you the same error code, but with a completely different page/styling, which I found curious...
