Hello! I have my "traditional" dotfiles separate from my NixOS configuration for reasons (mostly because text editor configurations are chaotic). Fortunately, there are options in NixOS to combine them but in this post, I focused on accomplishing that with Nix flakes.

Strategy to manage multiple linux installation personal
I have a simple setup with my dotfiles. Here's my dotfiles repo for reference. I'm trying to replace all of them with NixOS for an easier time managing them all in one repo. Here's the repo for it.

Awesome WM customizer/configurator
u/BaigGam3rss I still have some work to do to make my own widgets but you probably start with the documentation [1][2]. And then look at some other projects that use Awesome API to build widgets (ex: [3][4][5][6][7]).

Newbie to window manager, why use awesome over other dynamic wm ?
Awesome is very different from other window managers...It's a framework window manager! Through its API you can create widgets that are not possible in other WMs (ex: [1],[2],[3].[4]). Furthermore, AwesomeWM can be used as a tiling window managers and as a stacking window managers (like XFCE).
What are some alternatives?
