For anyone who wants to implement this, please _don't_ implement it like the GIF. <https://github.com/mkoryak/floatThead/blob/master/README.md> Instead, do what mobile web browsers do, where the header is automatically revealed and overlaid onto the content when scrolling up. On desktop, you can make it so the headers are also revealed when mousing around over the relevant data. But indiscriminately reducing the size of the viewport by going sticky is incredibly annoying.

What is the best library for handling tables and having fixed columns and/or headers
I've used float.Thead, but it does not offer fixed columns, and doesn't have any sorting functionality.

Probably influenced by the most popular JavaScript library for achieving this type of layout, Masonry[0]. The author notes at the end of the article:

Thank you! I purchased a Masonry (https://masonry.desandro.com/) license and built off of one of the layouts. Site runs on a Lucee server and content is populated from MySQL tables. I am using various open source jquery plug-ins for pop-ups and what not.
