Hi, I can relate to a lot of the things you wrote.* are you out of the probezeit? You should be since you've been here for 7 months(probezeit is almost always 6 months). I don't know your situation but, if you're out of your probezeit then generally speaking it should be pretty hard to fire you, even if you're an immigrant. You should be able to have more of a work-life balance now.* What I did when I was in your shoes(non-eu tech worker immigrant) was that I started going to meetups organized via meetup.com. I didn't really care what it was very much, I tried different things. It helped for sure. I found a couple of friends I still talk to and do stuff together.* I also connected with some of the other immigrants from my country; that was actually less successful than going to meetups but it all depends on your situation* as for the flat hunt, if you're a tech worker then you should be able to set up https://github.com/flathunters/flathunter on your machine or the cloud or whatever. If you set it up so that that you get telegram notifications or something like that, that could improve your chances DRASTICALLY.

If you are able to setup a Python program on your PC, you should check out Flathunter: https://github.com/flathunters/flathunter/. It helps you message someone seconds after they post their offers. I managed to find my place by being the first person to message after 20 seconds :) Good luck

Giving up on WG-Gesucht
When I found my flat they told me about having received 300+ messages in the first five minutes of the offer being posted. Maybe if you are IT-affine you could try Flathunter?

3rd flat search since 2014 - it has never been this bad
The BerlinFlatsBot also works but the refresh timer was high, I think it was 5min or 10min. I used https://github.com/flathunters/flathunter for a faster refresh timer on immoscout and a badly written webcrawler that counts the address html tags for wbm.
