I already use recognize in my home NAS. It works fine but it's a NextCloud app (it uses tensorflow through face-api.js). I want something portable and easy to use similar to Google Picasa.

I saw something similar which used P5.js alongside the face-api.js package.

Meanwhile, Lochlann started to work on facial recognition with face-api.js, which was a challenge. Still, the moment he overcame the hurdle and got it working, the team knew it provided many cool opportunities for this project.

While I was writing some initial code I found that Vincent Mühler had already created a high-level API called face-api.js built upon TensorFlow.js which wraps all the low-level operations and provides a convenient API for common tasks like face recognition and emotion detection. He also provides lots of example code on his GitHub repository so I was able to build my first emotion recognizer within a matter of minutes.

That's where the problem with your line of thought occurs. I have no relation to that algorithm or its maker(s). It's just a publicly available AI model that a lot of people use.

Camera and Image Captioning: For taking pictures we will use react-native-vision-camera and for generating captions from the images, react-native-quick-tflite.

Do you have any details on that Stripe app? I've found the browser camera handling lacking on mobile if you want to overlay it with a "position the subject here" rectangle, or display instructions alongside, or detect QR codes as well as other subjects. I'd like this to be an out-of-date view. I've been considering React Native for the next version, using https://github.com/mrousavy/react-native-vision-camera as it seems much more feature complete.

You can use react-native-vision-camera and a frame processor that uses some kind of OCR to get the number plates.

This is a demonstration of what VisionCamera V3 is capable of - I built a small plugin to load any TensorFlow Model (.tflite) from resources and run it on every Camera Frame. I finally got react-native-vision-camera and vision-camera-face-detector working yesterday by using Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). On windows itself it just doesn't work for me (https://github.com/mrousavy/react-native-vision-camera/issues/1474)
