eNGE PS1 running ShadowMaster with Q8
As a matter of fact a story was created today and nbarkhina offered to implement save states. MemCards is on my list but first I want to improve the recompiler to produce more accurate results and timing characteristics and runs even faster.

elementals before and after glow-up
I've been using VSTools: https://github.com/morris/vstools a really nice tool I found while looking for people who have deconstructed the game. In the browser version: https://morris.github.io/vstools/ if you have a copy of the game you can browse the files with it and with some homework on http://datacrystal.romhacking.net/wiki/Vagrant_Story you can load levels and models. you can turn on/off textures, vertex shading, wireframes, other cool stuff too. it's what im using to capture images of the maps as well.

Vagrant Story (PS1, 2000) - the first room in the game, design elements
Vagrant Story is widely recognized for its beautiful art direction. This shows the attention taken for even a single room - it isn't just nice textures, but careful layout of light/dark (which was all pre-baked in those days) in combination to make several flat plates come alive together. Working on a larger project about this game along these lines. If you have a copy and want to look at this kind of thing yourself, check out https://github.com/morris/vstools
