Additionally, for the best emulation performance, you need the recent firmware and also title keys to even launch the games. For this, you should download a tool called EmuSak (https://github.com/CapitaineJSparrow/emusak-ui/releases/tag/v2.1.9), which also includes shader downloads for certain games to prevent stuttering during compilations. Just simply point it to the directory of the emulator you're using - it works for both Ryujinx and Yuzu - then install the firmware and download keys.

The only way I know of to get an older version of Dolphin without having to compile it is to use PrimeHack: https://github.com/shiiion/dolphin/releases

If you're interested in playing it, then doing so on PC using PrimeHack with mouse controls is probably still the best experience. I replayed the trilogy around a year ago using that and it was great!

Which for the life of me has boggled my mind and had me jumping through hoops for the past 3 hours and I gave up... So I went here to download the latest version 1.0.6a (why wouldn't you just do this to begin with anyway??) - https://github.com/shiiion/dolphin/releases

Dolphin is the Wii emulator that people use, but there's a special fork of it called PrimeHack which implements typical FPS controls (KB+M and dual stick) on top of the pointer controls. If you can't dump the game yourself, we won't be able to help you find one online but you can download PrimeHack here: https://github.com/shiiion/dolphin/wiki/

Consulting the Wiki is recommended as a start. Be aware that emulation for this particular console generation is very complicated, so differences between Hardware make a substantial impact more so than older consoles or emulators. This means that achieving ideal settings becomes difficult and suggestions are the only thing that can really be offered. Ideally your CPU should be clocked at ~3GHz or higher for optimal performance so I'm not sure that Hardware is going to be ideal to use for this.
