Cannot change display resolution when using Plasma under Wayland
You can check what modes the display itself says it supports with drminfo. It probably only advertises the 2560x1600 mode and X and Sway add common modes that are almost guaranteed to work (whether the display says it supports it or not). At least I know that Mutter does something like that.
