Few questions about Miryoku and thumb keys

Is Pimorini Trackball really worth it?
I most commonly see them positioned for right-thumb access. The DracuLad is one example.

My weird, tightly spaced keyboard
You should look into Choc switches/keycaps. They work totally fine at tight spacing. In fact, there's a few keyboards (Chocolad comes to mind immediatley) designed especially for it.
