I think I broke something..
I'm using arch linux. I'm using xmonad, basically followed this. I think I was coding a display manager then I restared and it didn't poweroff. It was stuck, looked like it was frozen so I figured I would just hold the power button and hope nothing breaks.. well something broke.

What desktop environment would you recommend?
I'm using arch for the first time. I'm using xmonad and I'm enjoying it:) Most of what I do is use the browser and emacs. I used this config https://github.com/Axarva/dotfiles-2.0 there is a nice video walking you through it in the github as well.

Xorg-xbacklight and acpilight are in conflict
i am trying to install this: https://github.com/Axarva/dotfiles-2.0 but i fixed the issue by uninstalling the acpilight

It was meant for Arch, and I modified it a bit for my distro (you can still see I have 0 packages lol) and I agree, it does look good! Here’s the link.
