Communication with the API failed & Internal Error
Let me try that. I followed the documentation here for port forwarding and set it up as follows. As for my DNS, I bought and setup my domain through cloudflare here. Still getting the same errors though :/

nginx proxy manager + pihole for local only reverse proxy
Yup. As per the documentation the default port for http requests is 8080. Not sure why the devs opted for 8080 instead of 80 though. Anyways give it a shot, fix the dns record and hopefully that's all you need to do. Just make sure nothing is blocking nginx from listening to default ports (8080,8181,4443) on that pi.

I use a VM to host bitwarden. But because i have multiple site I have to use a nginx reverse proxy (nginx-proxy-manager). So i disabled SSL, but I did enter url: https://bitwarden.****.***

Go set up "GoAccess" on the access logs of your main reverse proxy. You wont regret seeing those juicy stats :)

If you're running things under systemd, you can enable process accounting and use cAdvisor.
