How does the SSD cache work? How much does it improve performance?
It's based on a package called "flashcache", invented by facebook, but no longer used there as I understand it. https://github.com/facebookarchive/flashcache/blob/master/doc/flashcache-doc.txt is a fair introduction to the technology.
