can't use kotlinx.serialization with maven
It's true that kotlin support in gradle is much better, but I have successfully used serialization with maven (pom.xml just in case, not really relevant here, because we use yaml instead of json and no java sources). Didn't use javafx or jlink, though. Maven usually needs more configuration and it looks more verbose because of xml.

This past week was a big week for code refactoring. Specifically I used the Twitter Jetpack Compose Rules to refactor a large chunk of my compose code base. I even made a little blog post about it, which can be found HERE. I still have quite a lot of code to refactor but I am now able to write more flexible compose functions.
