kindly help. i have webos tv and i need to use vpn to use any streaming services, is there a tick or a method to install vpn or use it on LG TVs
I don’t think so. There’s rootmy.tv for up to last years firmware and I believe this one which I’m not sure about. I remember dev mode needing to be refreshed about once a month or so. There may be another git that I’m missing, but afaik there’s no vpn client in the repos. It may be possible to compile one or install a precompiled one, but I haven’t looked into it.

Watching Crunchyroll on LG TV via Chromecast?
Solution 2: if you don’t have an iphone, you can download the developer tools from the lg app store and follow a tutorial which will allow you to install the crunchyroll app for 999 hours (there’s a tool called LG developer manager (https://github.com/webosbrew/dev-manager-desktop) which requires no rooting of the device and it’s pretty much 3 steps to follow.

sounds like a win for me
In order to sideload a custom application you need to use the official dev manager tool from LG https://github.com/webosbrew/dev-manager-desktop

Apple Announces Changes to iOS, Safari, and the App Store in the European Union
And there won't be since Google just got caught giving Spotify a lower rate and now face anti-trust issues. That doesn't mean they don't give certain apps certain permissions. AFAIK, Apple gives Google special permission to enable VP9/AV1 formats decoding [0].
Whether you like it or not, we're heading towards a future where Apple and Google choose who wins and who loses. A good app built on merit will never be able to compete.

Invidious – An open source alternative front-end to YouTube
A selfhosted instance of this, combined with [Yattee](https://github.com/yattee/yattee) as a client on iOS and tvOS is a pretty decent way to consume YT subscriptions with minimal exposure to algorithm and ads.

YouTube is testing a more aggressive approach against ad blockers
This seems great, and it's open source, too: https://github.com/yattee/yattee
And there's a native Mac app!
Maybe I'm just getting old, but as I was reading through the list of features this doesn't have, I just got more and more excited. My watch pattern is pretty much watching videos to solve problems or research some particular thing, and I feel like I find most of them through Google or YouTube search. The recommendations _can_ be pretty good, but there's always those clickbaity, completely unrelated ones mixed in, trying to pull me into a totally separate rabbit hole.
