What is this yellow dot? I've never seen it before.
Initially it read as if the feature i wanted wasn't included in dash to panel but it seems like it is...https://github.com/home-sweet-gnome/dash-to-panel/issues/208
- TIL: Gnome's most famous extensions, 'Dash to Panel' and 'Arc Menu' are forks of ZorinOS' Zorin Menu and Zorin Taskbar

Can you record what happens without any extension enabled? I suspected it was your dock extension because it perfectly fits this bug: https://github.com/home-sweet-gnome/dash-to-panel/issues/1698

It should be working somehow, but it really isn't. At least not with the current git version.

What type of desktop is this?
Default Zorin OS uses GNOME + Zorin taskbar + Zorin icon themes + Zorin desktop themes.

Zorin Desktop on POP!_OS?
Yeah I found that extension, but it appears to be out of date; the newest version of Gnome it supports is 3.30. I found the original: https://github.com/ZorinOS/zorin-taskbar. I might try building it and comparing it to Dash To Panel and ArcMenu.

Can install extensions for 3.38 on 40?
Zorin Taskbar is one of them, https://github.com/ZorinOS/zorin-taskbar/releases
What are some alternatives?
dash-to-dock - A dock for the Gnome Shell. This extension moves the dash out of the overview transforming it in a dock for an easier launching of applications and a faster switching between windows and desktops.
zorin-desktop-themes
spicetify-cli - Command-line tool to customize Spotify client. Supports Windows, MacOS, and Linux.
ubuntu.com - The official website for the Ubuntu operating system
dash-to-panel - An icon taskbar for the Gnome Shell. This extension moves the dash into the gnome main panel so that the application launchers and system tray are combined into a single panel, similar to that found in KDE Plasma and Windows 7+. A separate dock is no longer needed for easy access to running and favorited applications.
Zorin-extra-Layouts - A WIP Script which installs some of Zorin's pro layouts manually through their respective GNOME Extensions
shell - Pop!_OS Shell
zorin-icon-themes
dash-to-dock - A dock for the Gnome Shell. This extension moves the dash out of the overview transforming it in a dock for an easier launching of applications and a faster switching between windows and desktops.
ArcMenu
lxqt - Checkout all LXQt components at once by using git submodule. Discussions, Wiki and general issues are here.
vertical-overview - Gnome has had vertically stacked workspaces for a long time. The Gnome 40 update unfortunately made the switch to a horizontal layout. A choice that many Gnome users disagree with. This extension completely replaces the new Gnome overview with something that resembles the old style.
