Dropping support for KiTTY
Last month PuTTY 0.77 was released. KiTTY, which uses PuTTY's code base is still on 0.76 and I doubt if there will be an update, as the development seems to have stopped (last commit 30 Jan).

Alternative to Putty for SSH
I mean Putty is FOSS, But you can look at Kitty https://github.com/cyd01/KiTTY Its a fork of Putty and better IMO

Is it possible for me to automate tasks on PuTTY using PowerShell ISE?
I've had success using SSH.NET to automate my SSH workflows. It looks like theres a PowerShell module called Posh-SSH that usses a custom version of ssh.net to work easier with PowerShell.
