    My bright mind decided why not use Gluster with NFS as a fallback option? After many hours I have this barely working prototype to show for it. After it's up, it works great and when you can mount directly as glusterfs it's better (glusterfs mounts don't work on k3s....). The big problem with it is getting it up reliably. Another problem is the constraints that Gluster imposes. I'm not sure if I'm abandoning this quite yet, but I am going to explore using drbd behind NFS, since I can't even get the added value of Gluster itself inside k3s, because they stripped in-tree glusterfs support and the Gluster CSI was abandoned for dumb reasons IMO.
