For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Show HN: Scan your code to see where user data is going
Hey everyone! We’ve been working on a static code analysis tool to map out where user data is flowing at the code level and catch potential privacy violations; you can check it out here: https://github.com/monoid-privacy/monoid/tree/master/monoid-...
The goal here is to “shift privacy left” and make it easier to find potential privacy headaches, like user data leaking into logs, earlier in the software lifecycle. The tool slots easily into CI/CD for privacy checks on every commit, and can also be run ad-hoc via the CLI.
This was also a pretty exciting build from a technical perspective; OSS tooling around code graph generation and static analysis is pretty sparse (though https://github.com/Fraunhofer-AISEC/cpg offers a great foundation), so we built out a lot of code property graph generation + manipulation logic from the ground up.
Feedback would be much appreciated!

Quit my job today to focus full time on self study
Plus, I also contributed to an open source project, so that I could get practice working on a larger app (than one that I build). So I highly encourage everyone to do this. Check out https://hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com/ that happens every October and is a great place to find an open source project in your preferred tech stack.

How did I get my first job as a software engineer?
So while in bootcamp, I decided to join Major League Hacking and was apart of their fellowship. This made me stand out on my resume because I had my usual bootcamp projects, but also had projects where I collaborated on building things and using different technologies. In addition, I contributed to open source by participating in the 2020 hacktoberfest I made sure to put myself out there, show my capabilities of working on a team, and more. I used to participate in mintbean.io hackathons that happened every month. Hackathons are a great way to get experience and practice working in a group setting. It also adds the sense of urgency that is necessary in the real world. In addition, I blogged quite often to show my ability to write/document my experiences and code. In addition, I began tweeting about my experiences and staying in contact with the #devcommunity on twitter. Also, I made sure to keep my resume and Github up to date. Sometimes the little things, like a cool looking Github can make a difference.
