PHP RFC: Deprecations for PHP 8.3
If you want some random string (e.g. for a random filename), you can use bin2hex(random_bytes(16)). This will generate a random 128 bit identifier using the CSPRNG. To be extra safe, use https://github.com/paragonie/constant_time_encoding instead of bin2hex. The constant time encoder prevents some additional (more obscure) attacks.

PHP Inspections (EA Extended)[1] by Vladimir Reznichenko, a PHP language static analysis plugin for PHPStorm / JetBrains. I've coded in PHP for many years now, but there are many helpful reminders and checks that come standard with it. Some of the small performance quirks are game changers in long running processes, or intensive methods.
