What filesystem for nas ?
Last I knew Cockpit by default doesn't support ZFS by default. You may have to use community provided addins for it like: https://github.com/optimans/cockpit-zfs-manager

Best web GUI for managing Linux NAS Server?
Have you tried the ZFS plugin for Cockpit? I find that it provides all of the functionality I need to manage storage pools on my NAS.

And by the way if you want good gui for linux/debian zfs GUI you can use Cockpit ZFS Manager. Simply and neat.

Why is the useful part of Jails page seemingly locked to 50% of the screen height?
The ui needs to be revamped. There are many places in v12 that I struggle to think why it skipped their checks before release. The most dangerous of them all is where the logout button is. A clean ui like this would be nice. zfs cockpit plugin

Ubuntu + Cockpit + https://github.com/optimans/cockpit-zfs-manager might get you most of the way there.

I think moving package selection out of the installer is the right choice. It's best to get you to a full running system you can customize as quickly as possible. If you have a special use case, make a kickstart file, or look at cockpit composer. If you have a special case that you think a lot of people share, propose a new Fedora spin!

zfsmanager - ZFS administration tool for Webmin
