Procedural Generated 8-bit Monsters
As stated above, I "hand picked" selected palettes that I thought looked good from the chromotome project (the list can been seen in the code). I was mostly going for a kind of "Godzilla poster", "Saturday morning cartoon" or "80s anime" look.

Question: How do you deal with colors?
Another way to get interesting and harmonious results is to use tools that take a photograph and generate a palette from that. Pick a sunset photo, for example, or a forest scene. I have also picked wilder things, like saturated photos from the 60s and 70s of food, or fashion shots. You will usually need to make a few adjustments to palettes like these, like removing some outliers, or adjusting the saturation, etc., but they are good starting places. Finally, TV and films these days are color-corrected to within an inch of their lives, so stills from these can be produce harmonious palettes. Jared Tarbell will draw palettes from paintings (for example - see the Data directory). I have drawn a few palettes from the paintings of Alfred Bierstadt.
