Camera for Streaming
The Elgato Cam Link 4k is a good solution, it works out of the box on modern Linux, no drivers needed. It does have some quirks with some software in when using 4k resolution (https://github.com/xkahn/camlink/issues/2#issuecomment-814083239), but in obs-studio it works fine.

Turn any camera into a webcam with a $13 USB/HDMI video card
Shameless self promotion: I create a from scratch implementation of a USB-MJPEG streaming server meant to run on low cost hardware. $10 USB web cam + a Raspberry Pi gets you a very simple nanny cam or similar.
