The four C’s of software architecture
The C4 model has definitely convinced us and we will use it again — if it fits. In one of our projects, a colleague was able to familiarize himself with the architecture we had changed without much effort after taking parental leave. We like using the standardized and lightweight model to design architectures efficiently and to document them in a way that is understandable for all target groups. A big advantage is the integration of the C4 model with arc42, ArchiMate and other tools. We have used draw.io with an extension so far and have been satisfied with it.

Network Diagrams
I use draw.io (downloaded diagram.net) and the ecceman afinity symbol set, along with svgrepo and use those to create logical diagrams like so: Example Logical Diagram

Best network documentation tool, opinions?
I’m a fan of draw.io using the Ecceman Affinity Symbol Set and a couple other svg files I located. I’ve used them for professional work as well when the need calls for a logical topology diagram and not a physical one.
