Is there any easy way to interface Launchpad X with a hardware synth, since it doesn't have the traditional midi out?
Because this is „premium” feature of the Pro version. Btw, there’s a custom firmware for launchpad pro mk2 adding chords and custom mode functionality, which I can highly recommend instead of any workarounds with launchpad X.
What are some alternatives?
midimonster - Multi-protocol control & translation software (ArtNet, MIDI, OSC, sACN, ...)
lunchpad - A macro application for Novation Launchpads - easy to use, feature rich
USBMidiKliK - A robust USB MIDI Arduino firmware, with a dual bootloader, based on the LUFA library
midictl - Terminal-based MIDI control panel meant to be fast and simple in use
OpenDeck - Software and hardware platform for simpler building of MIDI controllers.
Tasmota - Alternative firmware for ESP8266 and ESP32 based devices with easy configuration using webUI, OTA updates, automation using timers or rules, expandability and entirely local control over MQTT, HTTP, Serial or KNX. Full documentation at
Luma3DS - Nintendo 3DS "Custom Firmware"
picostepseq - MIDI sequencer using Raspberry Pi Pico in Arduino & CircuitPython
