At the risk of having us fall into an X-Y problem trap, I'll also mention I've more recently been using the exportToPPTX function off the Matlab file exchange to auto-generate PowerPoint slide decks within Matlab. I find it really useful in cases where I'm able to auto-generate most of a presentation but want to quickly throw in some manual text or annotations, or if I need to collaborate on the deck with others who aren't TeX-savvy.
