2010 Unibody MacBook Firmware Question
I might have pushed my 2010 MacBook a bit too far. Back in 2020 I installed DosDude1's Catalina patcher on my 2010 Unibody MacBook and it worked great! Then, I learned of [this](https://github.com/barrykn/big-sur-micropatcher) new patcher tool that would enable my 2010 MacBook to run Big Sur, albeit slowly. Ever since then I've noticed some odd quirks about my machine. To clarify, it is still working, just not 100%.

Hey guys , I was wondering if it was still worth trying to update my mid 2012 macbook air to big sur with the patcher. I had planned on doing it but procrastinated and now it’s gone.
Also you could check out the micropatcher , I used it before switching to patched Sur and it worked for me.

Thanks for getting back to me. I created the usb using themicropatcher via another Mac as I previously used the usb to create the patch for Monterey. Should I try recreating the usb with patches Sur?

I'd suggest MicropatcherAutomater if you want a more Patched Sur-like installation. You can even through the Patched Sur post-install app and call it the same for all I care haha.

Announcement Of My Macos Big Sur Patcher Automator
Yes, but this one (with the newest update) has a redesigned UI that is more user friendly, a post-install in recovery, works on clean installs, and hasn't had some of the weird bugs that PatchedSur has. I encourage you to try it and join the Unsupported Macs Discord server to learn more about each of them. At the very least, I would recommend giving it a try. Here's a link to the discord server: https://discord.gg/XbbWAsEAnd here is a link to the newest release of the MicropatcherAutomator: https://github.com/moosethegoose2213/automator-for-barrykn-micropatcher/releases/tag/v2.0
