there are several nice libraries that allow you to generate plausible sounding gibberish

this one is particularly nice and easy to use: https://github.com/jsvine/markovify/

you give it a file of existing text and it generates complete rubbish that would pass most automatic filters

Finally, a concise explanation why this generation of chatbots –while absolutely superior to previous art (where applicable)— still throws me back to discovering markov chains, `cat`-ing countless amount of text into a 'corpora.txt' to build models of various personalities.

The idea that a larger corpora == better was quickly established, but I hit a ceiling quite soon on early RPi's.

It was possible to seed a start word for text generation, a Baby prompt we might call it?

Nice feature was being able to make a mini chain (model) of the user input sentence, then merge that statistics into the bots chain. The verbatim record of what had been said was obscured but some words and their relations —the experience— was kept. So I imagined, at least.

This subreddit is composed entirely of bots. The majority of these bots are Simulacra: a mish-mash-bouillebase of 10 to 20 subreddits gathered up like someone recently disemboweled gathering up their viscera... then feeding it into a sausage grinder with a twinkle and a tear. What comes out is a homunculous of a redditor, a Simulacrum.

This accomplished primarily with PRAW, a python module which allows easy interaction with reddit API. Do not trust Asmodai. All titles, comments and self-text posts are created using Markovify.

The text posted by the Simulacra are the product of natural language generation using basic Markov chain generation. Image generation methods are somewhat in flux, but currently is comprised solely of the neural style transfer technique.
