14" MBP M2 Max - Battery Cycle After 1 Week of Use!??!
If when you’re using your mac always plugged in or docked, I recommend using BCLM so it limit your maximum percentage of charge. E.g I set mine to charge maximum at 58%, if will not charge beyond that.

I have a brand new map 16 2021 - might there be a good reason why my MBP might not be charging to the fullest unless I press "charge to the fullest now?" I'm wondering if it's a new feature that I can trust or if it's some sort of an issue that would I need to press "full charge" every time?
You can, with Battery.sh . The version for Intel Macs is BCLM.

Ask HN: Host a website from a living room in 2022?
Constantly keeping the battery at 100% can be an issue, but modern versions of macOS allow you to limit charging. There are also utilities that work on older OS versions (they just issue an SMC command to achieve the same thing), like this one: https://github.com/zackelia/bclm

Charging a lithium battery to 80% only?
I can highly recommend ACC (and the ACCA app [1] for setup). It lets me limit my phone to 90% charge with the ability to ignore the limit temporarily when I need to. That's very useful for fixing the battery calibration, which can go bad when using ACC.
It has reduced my battery wear by 40-50% according to Accubattery's capacity graph.
