3 Advantages to Running FreeBSD as Your Server Operating System
> FreeBSD jails don't have a one-command way to install a preconfigured jail for a specific service
FreeBSD does have that tool, its BastilleBSD: https://bastillebsd.org/
For example, this is the Bastillefile for running consul: https://gitlab.com/bastillebsd-templates/consul/-/blob/maste...

Are there some sort of "jails images" one can pull to quickly setup popular software stacks?
Not exactly what you’re looking for, but https://bastillebsd.org is maybe a step towards it?

pf/opn sense best LINUX alternative
Obviously, not as popular - but having used both - I much prefer jails myself. It seems that they can run on opnsense too: https://eerielinux.wordpress.com/2017/07/15/building-a-bsd-home-router-pt-8-zfs-and-jails/ - though instead of iocage referenced here - I'd suggest using: https://bastillebsd.org/

Using Bastille for managing FreeBSD Jails

Just brings a smile
Take a look at Bastille, it’s a nice way to package/deploy jails somewhat like docker and I’m migrating my older iocage jails to this setup

Erlang/OTP 26.1 Released
Probably shouting into the wind here, but it would be amazing to get Erlang compatibility in the Windows Nano Server Docker images [0]
Without it, to run RabbitMQ in a Windows containers, you have to run the enormous Server Core images.
A niche issue, I know, but a constant thorn in my side!

Are there some sort of "jails images" one can pull to quickly setup popular software stacks?
"just using an elixir docker image": [elixir](https://github.com/erlef/docker-elixir/blob/b108e93389b820554ad9f1e8e07001ed8186d230/1.14/Dockerfile) FROM [erlang:25](https://github.com/erlang/docker-erlang-otp/blob/3e60071a7f14aefe202b602aec0893678d0a0069/25/Dockerfile) FROM [buildpack-deps:bullseye](https://github.com/docker-library/buildpack-deps/blob/65d69325ad741cea6dee20781c1faaab2e003d87/debian/bullseye/Dockerfile) FROM [buildpack-deps:bullseye-curl](https://github.com/docker-library/buildpack-deps/blob/98a5ab81d47a106c458cdf90733df0ee8beea06c/debian/bullseye/curl/Dockerfile) FROM [debian:bullseye](https://github.com/debuerreotype/docker-debian-artifacts/blob/fe5738569aad49a97cf73183a8a6b2732fe57840/bullseye/Dockerfile). wtf is even running on that thing?
