aws-sdk question
This looks like a bug in aws-sdk itself. I have tried to fix it: PR . I'm not sure it fixes the problem, but for me (without configured AWS) it sends a request successfully, signalling an error only when it tries to get a response, so I think it fixes it.

How is cloud computing in CL? (AWS, GCP, Azure)
What project did you see for AWS? This one seems quite complete and is recent: https://github.com/pokepay/aws-sdk-lisp/ (seen on awesome-cl, no experience with it)

Toy library - dyna-clc reads Dynamo DB by using the AWS CLI - Feedback appreciated
I haven't done any recent testing (and I am a bit more experienced with CL now) but I have an issue open https://github.com/pokepay/aws-sdk-lisp/issues/16.

Getting frustrated with the Common Lisp ecosystem, thinking of trying Scheme...but which one?
Shameless plug: I'm working on Schemepunk, a compatibility-focused alternate standard library for Scheme. It's an easy way to try a project in one Scheme, then move to another if you don't like it, without having to change much.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing aws-sdk-lisp and schemepunk you can also consider the following projects:
aws-sdk-lisp - AWS-SDK for Common Lisp
vim-r7rs-syntax - Vim syntax highlighting for R7RS Scheme and Gauche.
aws-foundation - Base routines for AWS services
staged-miniKanren - staged relational interpreters: running with holes, faster
dyna-clc - Common Lisp - Access Dynamo via the AWS CLI
gerbil - Gerbil Scheme
