Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.

The worst thing about Jenkins is that it works
cloud is so good now it’s hard to justify not doing something bespoke. ec2 spot is insanely cheaper than turnkey cicd, and better in almost every way.
i’m delighted to pay 30% over infra cost for convenience, but not 500%. and it better actually be convenient, not just have a good landing page and sales team.
this month i learned localzones have even better spot prices. losangeles-1 is half the spot price of us-west-2.
for a runner, do something like this, but react to an http call instead of a s3 put[1].
for a web ui do something like this[2].
s3, lambda, and ec2 spot are a perfect fit for cicd and a lot more.

Ask HN: How do you deploy your weekend project in 2022?
on aws as scale to zero services. lambda, dynamo, s3, and ephemeral ec2 spot.
when egress bandwidth is needed i use cloudflare workers + r2 just like i would use s3 presigned urls.
typically i start from a full project template[1][2]. sometimes i start from scratch[3].

Ask HN: Have you created programs for only your personal use?
Clockify polybar integration. Clockify is a time tracker tool. Polybar is a UI bar for window managers like i3 or bspwm. I also have a version that works on wayland and interacts with Waybar but I haven't gotten around to cleaning it up and publishing it.
I click on it when I start working and click when I stop working.
