I am not an expert on neither of osdev or SDN. But in general, starting from scratch is a huge workload. SDN is not a new concept, to there's legacy protocols and standards you should comply along with current network protocols. Life after VMware
You can look at containers from scratch (by Liz rice) or just create a Container FROM scratch (literally, that’s the from line) and have a single statically compiled binary in there, nothing else. It will still work.

Linux v. Mac Gopls LSP Environment
How can I tell the LSP so that it knows which fields are available in certain OS-related structs?
