AIOC: Ham Radio All-in-One-Cable
Last time I checked, APRSdroid reccomended not to connect your (handy) radio to your cellphone [0] via audio cable, among other reasons, due to lack of shielding that could stop any excesive voltage/current signal from reaching your phone. Does this design take this into account?

Best way to track my rocket? (Question in comments)
For the second point, it's possible to receive & decode the position locally using a handheld radio that can receive 144.390 MHz & a cell phone running APRSdroid. Do note that not all handheld radios will work for this. I learned the hard way that the Baofeng UV-5R does some kind of processing on the signal before passing it on to the phone which won't allow the app to work correctly.

Can anyone recommend a good APRS client (Windows or Mac, I run both) for someone new to APRS? I’ll be using the built in modem in my TH-D72a
