What is the appeal of Gentoo?
I've not used it beyond some light testing but I reckon Crux is a solid contender for most BSD like Linux system beyond stuff like Aalbus and Mutiny which are more experimental OS's. It's using BSD-style init scripts, a ports system for package management and has been keeping it simple, stupid for 20yrs odd years.
