Question: how to enable PIP for any view in SwiftUI like this ?
The library Pipify has a view modifier that can be applied to any SwiftUI view to show it in the system PiP through some magic/wizardry. The documentation in the readme is explains in some detail, no private APIs afaik
What are some alternatives?
When comparing GaugeKit and swiftui-pipify you can also consider the following projects:
url-image - AsyncImage before iOS 15. Lightweight, pure SwiftUI Image view, that displays an image downloaded from URL, with auxiliary views and local cache.
PIPKit - Picture in Picture for iOS
Map - MKMapView wrapper for SwiftUI as drop-in to MapKit's SwiftUI view. Easily extensible annotations and overlays, iOS 13 support and backwards compatible with MKAnnotation and MKOverlay!
ScrollViewProxy - ScrollViewProxy for SwiftUI on iOS 13 and up
Clendar - Clendar - Minimal Calendar app. Written in SwiftUI.
