Svelte (~6 years old) takes the ergonomics of writing modern apps to another level, with its focus on developer experience (less LoC + far easier to reason about)

What makes this combo truly incredible is the dark mode toggle, powered by Astro and Tailwind. This was where I tried out Astro's stellar feature of partial hydration. The only JS on this site comes from a tiny Svelte component which dynamically appends a 'dark' class to the entire site instantly. From here, tailwind handles the rest and voila we have dark mode!
  • What is XState used for?

XState can be used in any frontend application to manage state. It has first-class integrations for React, Vue, Svelte, as well as an upcoming Solid integration. It also works well in Angular without any integrations needed.

Use more complex 3rd party frontend library/framework (popular ones are React, Vue, Angular, Svelte) with ASP.NET Core WebAPI backend. Choice depends on your use-case and/or personal preference, they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Usually there is a choice of component libraries that can help you composing your UI (e.g. Chakra, MUI, Angular Material, etc.). Keep in mind that most of these libraries/frameworks imply client-side rendering.

  • Why use readonly props?

Ok, export const is one of those features of svelte that I try not to use, it's not designed for a use case, it just exist because at the time of v3 development there was a need for export anything to work, it got a meaning because export const was over-writable from parent (

The view is less interesting to think about these days as we've largely settled on templates and various forms of JSX-like extensions with components. Even things like svelte, which infamously takes a very different approach, still looks like conventional JSX (albeit with some nice shorthands, and some weird syntax for observables). If you want a vanilla JS solution, though, this might still be interesting to think about.
